I am absolutely thrilled to share three pieces of great news! First, another gallery is representing me now in Eastern Ontario, in addition to Galerie203 Montreal, Arta Gallery Toronto, Five3 Gallery in California and The Art Collective Gallery in Arkansas. Studio 87 in Perth is a beautiful gallery that specializes in artists living within 100 km of the city. I just qualify km-wise! I had a great meeting with Randa, the gallery owner, and the gallery manager at the end of January and left a few pieces there on consignment. Do stop by the gallery if you pass by Perth - it's on the main street, just a block from the canal. The art inside will make the trip well worth it! I just found out that three of my paintings have been accepted into the Federation of Canadian Artists upcoming Spring Thaw exhibition in Toronto! "Approaching the Terminal", "'Distillery Truck" and "Up Close" will be there. You, of course, are welcome to be there, too!! The exhibition runs from March 17 to April 16 at the Art of Emotions Gallery on Oakwood Ave. in Toronto. Sixty-five works were chosen for inclusion in the exhibition - it should be a good show. I also just found out over the weekend that I've been granted Professional Membership in the International Guild of Realism (IGOR), an organization dedicated to promoting and exhibiting the work of contemporary realist artists. I'm honoured to be included in the company of the amazing artists who make up the Guild. I'll be submitting work for upcoming exhibitions sponsored by IGOR. Stay tuned for news. And, of course, I've been spending quite a few hours curled up in my warm living room, turning my back on the -20 weather outside, watching the Olympics along with many of you, I suppose. Go team Canada! |
