I'm still drawn to the line of trees marking the edge of a scene. This one is about half-way done and I'm looking forward to completing it this weekend. The scene could be anywhere - it's not based on any particular location - but it encourages the viewer to imagine what's on the other side of the trees. For me, it creates a feeling of comfort, with the shade trees beckoning me into their welcome coolness, combined with the mystery of not knowing what lies beyond. This tension between comfort and the edge of mystery is intriguing, and something I enjoy exploring.
