It's done! I thought this would be an easy piece to paint at first - silly me! It was only after I started mapping it out on the canvas that i realized that there was an awful lot of detail in it and that this would take some time. Lots of time. I took the original reference photo while driving through St. John's, NL on the way to Km Zero of the Trans-Canada Highway when doing the research for the TransCanada 150 project a few years ago. It's sat quietly waiting on my hard drive ever since. When I looked at it again recently, I was struck by the colour flare along the building caused by the darker sunshade strip along the top of the car windshield. I intensified the colour shift to make it more dramatic. And here we are. Tell me what you think - I always love to read your feedback. |
