Bikes cast such interesting shadows! As you may know from my posts over the last several years, I've been fascinated by shadows for a long time. The way physical shapes can be warped and transformed as they cast their forms in darkness over irregular or angled surfaces is endlessly interesting. My husband's bike was parked in the driveway on a bright afternoon and I just had to put it on canvas. I haven't come up with a good title yet, though. What do you think? I'm open to suggestions! My other obsession recently is jumbled rooftops, especially in old urban settings. I've started |
another Prague scene on a large 40" x 60" canvas. It's just in the beginning stages of drawing all the lines with acrylic ink. When all is mapped in, I'll begin the overpainting in colour. This stage is time-consuming, but it has to be done right for the overall effect to look true. Patience is supposed to be a virtue, right??
