| I just found out that two of my paintings have been accepted into the Art Comes Alive (ACA) exhibition, sponsored by Art Design Consultants, in Cincinnati. This is a huge international show, with many gallery representatives and corporate buyers offering contracts and purchases. Last year I won Architectural Artist of the Year at the show for "Penthouse Reno". This year I'm sending "Green Light", a view of the Proctor and Gamble headquarters building in Cincinnati, and "Out to Pasture", which was just featured in Acrylic Works 10 and was awarded an Honorable Mention in that competition. Wish me luck! This weekend I'll be in Niagara on the Lake for the annual Brush-Off exhibition in support of art programs for people living with Alzheimer's and dementia. "Distillery Truck" is my entry there. Next weekend is the 95th Grand National Exhibition in New York, where "Pretty in Pink" will hang in the Salmagundi Club among the other amazing finalists in this prestigious and highly selective show. Art Comes Alive opens November 18th, so that makes it three weekends in a row for exhibitions. It's a busy month!!! Happy Halloween to all. And stay warm. Carol |

I am thrilled and honoured to share that the American Artists Professional League has elevated me to Signature membership status! I'm still trying to get my head around the idea that the AAPL ranks my paintings in the top 6% of the work from all their outstanding realist artists. Wow.
In case you missed it, my Instagram interview last week with AAPL board member Jon Bandish is available on their Instagram page. I had a blast discussing a wide range of topics with him, although I did have a little technical trouble getting my connection to work at the beginning. Thank you, Jon, for hosting this weekly artist interview series! Happy Canadian Thanksgiving to all of you! Carol
I just found out that "Rooftops IV" has been sold by Arta Gallery to a collector in Mumbai. It is on its way, rolled up and in an overhead bin somewhere between Toronto and India. Thanks to Fay and the staff at Arta for making all the arrangements!
I hope all of you are having a relaxing and/or productive summer so far. And that you are staying cool somewhere that the fire smoke can't reach. Carol
I'll be back in Montreal this Friday and Saturday, June 9-10, painting live in Galerie 203 on Avenue Greene. Come on in to the gallery and chat with me about my painting process while I work on a view of the old Canada Malt plant from the Lachine Canal side. Around 25 of my paintings, in various styles from the last few years, will be on display, along with work by other Montreal and international artists.
You may notice that some of my work that was in the gallery last month is gone - sold to happy collectors. Galerie 203 managed to find new homes for six of my paintings recently. Thanks to Corinne and the gallery staff for making the introductions and arrangements! See you this weekend! Carol |
