Last week I put together another vase of flowers, inspired by the annuals that the garden never ceases to produce all summer. I've really gotten to enjoy these quiet still lifes, with the variety of colours and shapes that the flowers and vase suggest to me. Yesterday I had an attack of the cleaning bug and got rid of two large bags of studio trash - old palettes, paper colour studies and sketches, destroyed brushes, empty paint tubes, etc. Under a pile of stuff I hadn't looked at in a long time, I discovered this little spray paint composition from a workshop I attended several years ago when I was doing the "Edge of the Park" series. Hmmm - a few more dots of paint and this could be really good! So I added a few more dots and now I really like it. Amazing what one finds when cleaning in dark corners! |
