I was in New York last weekend for the 95th Grand National Exhibition at the Salmagundi Club, organized by the American Artists Professional League. It's always an honour to have a piece in this incredible show, but this was the strongest collection of contemporary realist art that I've seen in a long time. Out of over 600 entries, the jury selected 100 works to include in the show. The photos here really don't do the exhibition justice. If you're in the New York area, do go down to the club and see for yourself! To make it even better, "Pretty in Pink", my entry in the show, sold on the first day. Thanks go to my collector, and to the AAPL for handling all the details. |
Next weekend I'm off to Cincinnati for the annual Art Comes Alive exhibition opening. I have two paintings in that show. The organizers, Art Design Consultants, told me I won an award, but they didn't tell me which painting or which award. I'm dying with curiosity!!! I'll let you know more when I find out. In the meantime, here are the pieces in the show. Let me know which you would vote for!
