Happy New Year, everyone! I hope you all had a great holiday season. I'm looking forward to more daylight as the days go by and, eventually, some green poking through the snow. In the meantime, the local trails are a quiet and peaceful retreat from the events of the day, at least until there's enough snow for the snowmobiles to rush by. Since my last post I finished "Henri's Bike" and I'm now reaching the finish line on a large New York skyline, as seen from the Staten Island Ferry several years ago. The endless contrast between the old and new, tall and short, brick and glass is fascinating. Although the canvas is a large one, I find I still resort to my tiny brushes to get necessary details in. Sometimes I wish I could resist the temptation to delve in to the detail, but I just can't resist. It wouldn't seem complete otherwise. Stay tuned for more news next time. And bundle up to enjoy the winter! Carol |
