Happy Monday! One week from today is setup day at Arta Gallery for my solo show. The last couple of paintings are getting "dressed" at the framer here in Kingston so they'll look great on the wall, and I"m busy making sure all the gallery handouts are up to date. Soon I'll start preparing the trailer for loading, then it will be time to hit the road. The public opening reception, or vernissage, will be Wednesday May18 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm. If you will be in Toronto, please come to the gallery at 14 Distillery Lane in the Distillery District - I would be happy to answer any questions you might have about the work. Otherwise, the gallery is open Monday-Friday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, and Saturday-Sunday from 10:00 am-3:00 pm. Since my last post, I've finished a few more paintings - another view of the Canadian Malt plant in Montreal that I'm calling "Penthouse Reno", an old tractor that I found in a field near Perth, and a reworking of a piece that had been put aside unfinished for a year or two. I finally figured out what was bothering me about it and fixed it. We'll see if I still think it's fixed next time I look at it! I hope to see many of you in Toronto. In any case, have a great long weekend! Carol |
