Wow! I'm thrilled to have been asked to give an art talk about the Trans-Canada 150 project to the Organization of Kingston Women Artists this coming Tuesday. Although the project was completed for the end of the Canada 150 year, it still carries on. This is the second talk I've given on the project over the past year. It's really gratifying to know that so many people are interested and enjoy the artwork. I also just finished the New York skyline painting that I was working on recently. I thought I would be able to do this one quickly, but things didn't work out that way, of course. I thought I could just put in the straight lines of the buildings and be done, but noooo. I always get caught up in the details and, the closer I looked at this image, the more detail I saw. Cities are complex places!!! Stay warm, everyone. Carol |
