The snow just keeps on coming this week. It's nice and warm in the studio, though, and I'm keeping it that way with the warm side of the palette. I find I'm getting very attracted to this viewpoint - looking up a slope to trees. I love the way the perspective works here, and the way the light from the sky suffuses onto the land. I liked the flowers I wrote about in my last post so much that I've begun another along the same lines. I never was attracted to painting flowers before - maybe it's a bit of an escape from all the landscapes that have preoccupied me over the past few years that I'm working on some more intimate subjects.
